My quagmire of a situation
Made me pusillanimous
Through my myopic vision
I could not see the obvious.
I thought my love would defect
Being sagacious of my flaws
I’m parsimonious most times
Ennui justified by laws.
I’m austere in most of my ways
Lugubrious much more than morose
Apocalyptic through my lack of love
Abstemious her love I refuse.
My heart I made intractable
Seemingly for gargantuan good
Remorse was the deeper root
Now I reminisce on what could.
Internal criticism brought demise
Through impassioned feelings
Catastrophic are the results
They lead to my sweetheart fleeing.
