Dad... - Poem by Jasmin Carriere

Disappointed continuously
Missed out on my life completely
Never got to watch me grow
Didn’t help teach the things that I know
You left when I was a little girl
Now I wait for you in my incomplete world
Never got to see me have fun
Didn’t show up for fathers day, I drew you a picture, it says my dads #1
I never really knew you though
I waited, but you’d never show
Mom said you’d call, but you never did
I would cry waiting by the phone, what can I say.. I was a little kid
But im older now and still don’t know who you are..
You’re probably picking up a new girl at the bar
You gave up your rights for me when I turned 6
You even missed out when the doctors removed my appendix
You’re my dad, and I want to know you better
I want a relationship with my father
I want him to be apart of my life forever.
