Dad's Memories Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Dad's Memories

Crossing oceans of my mind in the Navy, being
propelled by it's exquisite sleek body through
the water.
Notorious notions from childhood contain them-
selves in roots of Dad's memories, pasted in my
mind's photo album when just a child.
Listening to his days in the service of our
country, making sure his future wife and children
would be safe from enemies, domestic and foreign.
Never really getting much thanks for it during
his lifetime.
Hopefully this little poem will reach him through
heaven's gates as a private 'thank you' at long
last from his oldest daughter.
