Daddy Poem by Supriya Choudary

Daddy

Rating: 5.0

This is a poem written in honour of my father. He continues to be my best friend, has always given me freedom in all my pursuits of life and has given me ample scope to evolve into a better human being. Thank you Daddy! !

His arms cradled me when I needed affection,

“Nanna” my first word, taught me nuances of diction.

Nor a big burly frame neither the man tallest,

For me he was my daddy strongest.

Meandered through lessons of compassion,

It was his entire simple benediction.

A seed into a sapling as I evolved,

New ideas and rebellious spirit around me revolved.

Contested certain views waned from being daddy strongest,

A huge divide between thought and action,

Heated debates and bit of friction.

As part of youth and burning blood,

With arrogance and individuality as flood.

With time, achieved a beautiful mean with Dad,

Expressing my feelings here is not a mere fad.

If I had hurt you I am sorry Daddy,

You will always remain my best buddy.

May not be a build strongest,

You are still forever Daddy the dearest.
