Daddy Poem by Cheré Mason

Daddy

Rating: 3.5

In the pouring rain I see her standing
The cold wind blowing against her naked legs
She used to be such a grand thing
Before daddy sent her to work in the kegs

I see her offer herself to the world
I see what she puts herself through
She sacrificed her inner girl
Theses things her daddy made her do

She looks up at me
A brief second our eyes meet
I see her longing to be free
Rid of the shackles daddy put on her feet

I’m urged to show her a better place
A world she’ll never know
But deep down I know it’s a useless chase
Daddy will never let her go

Daddy stole her inner beauty
To feed his greedy needs
Daddy made her filthy dirty
And now this is the life she leads
