Dads Don'T Change. Poem by Desiree Whitamore

Dads Don'T Change.

forget every birthday
every minute he was gone
don't remember all the visits
that weren't very long.
don't think about the doctor
who asked you where he was
don't listen to your answer
'this is what he does'
don't try to make him better
you knew he couldnt change.
push back every tear
he'll always be the same
try to find yourself
don't let this hinder you
he won't matter in the future
he never told the truth
all you share is blood
his looks will fade away
he's not who you are
don't remember him today.
