Damaged Poem by Lily Brummels

Damaged

Damaged

By: Kyra Lily Brummels and Leslie Garconville

Her life was a tragedy.

My life was a fairytale, you see.

Two very different people collide.

Never thought they could be friends and stand side by side.

I am an only child.

Her house is so wild.

We stand together.

In any weather,

We stand strong,

We are children gone wrong.

We are a burden upon our parents' shoulder.

We become a bigger pain as we get older.

When we smile,

It's like that for a while.

When we cry, we never know exactly why.

We don't know how we found each other.

We look so alike, we could be from the same mother.

Damaged.

even when we lived apart.

Damaged.

Even now that we live so close, we are practically joined by the heart.

Every tear,
We know when one crys.
Every scream,
We know what each mean.

We are damaged.

And we stand strong,
So maybe,
Nothing else will go wrong.
