Damn! It's Good To Be Alive! Poem by Shaun Cronick

Damn! It's Good To Be Alive!

Rating: 5.0

Damn! It's good to be alive!
On a toboggan at St Moritz Cresta Run,
My senses sharpened one by one!
Travelling on the ice at over eighty five!
Damn! It's good to be alive!

Damn! It's good to be alive!
A charity parachute jump, on a beautiful summer's day,
Plummeting towards the earth swearing all the way!
Reaching terminal velocity of almost one two five!
Damn! It's good to be alive!

Damn! It's good to be alive!
Driving an open-top Mercedes sports at night,
Speeding towards Los Angeles at full flight.
On California State Route One coast road,
Wind in my hair God my adrenaline flowed!
At over one forty five!
Damn! It's good to be alive!

Damn! It's good to be alive!
Piloting a Merlin Three forever at tree-top level,
Flew over the Grand Canyon Christ I'm a lucky devil!
Pushed a speed of three four five!
Damn! It's good to be alive!

Married a beautiful woman, with a baby on the way,
Better times lie ahead, no speed now can make me stray.
Put those good times behind me on which I did once thrive,
Damn! It's good to be alive!
