Damned Politics! Poem by Denis Martindale

The UK's in a right old mess, finances up the creek!
No future sign of happiness, in fact, the future's bleak!

If people vote and get it wrong, I say, good luck with that,
Yet critics know this all along, but all they do is chat.

So many fear such poverty, and look ahead with dread,
While Christians turn to prophecy, to learn what Jesus said!

When Christians humbly seek God's face, they want Him to react,
But politicians won't embrace God's will... and that's a fact!
