Dancing Dream Poem by Barry Middleton

Dancing Dream

I'm dancing in a dream
light as feathered air
spinning on the ceiling
just like Fred Astaire

I'm young and strong again
but I could never dance
something in the moonlight
has but me in a trance

dancing in the dewdrops
outside my windowsill
the stars above are swirling
the night is cool and still

I think I know the meaning
the message crystal clear
so I will keep on dancing
there is nothing I must fear
