Dare You To Move - Poem by Tina Dang
You’re not fooling anyone with your sweet smile,
I can feel your unhappiness from a mile.
More times you feel sad and depress,
Lack of love just feel alone and emptiness.
But why waste your tears crying night after night,
Life wasn’t meant to be easy nothing ever goes right.
The world seems smaller as everything around you crumbles,
You feel weak at times trying to run and hide but instead you fall, you stumble.
Even in your dreams you run your feet won’t stop moving,
Someone or something gains up on you it’s a battle you’re losing.
I guess the easiest thing to do is sometimes run and hide,
When you feel like there’s no one you can trust in or turn to to confide
You ask yourself, “ When will I ever get a break? ”
“Why do I always end up in heartache? ”
“Will my feet ever get to rest? ”
“Who will rescue me from all of this mess? ”
But I don’t need anyone, even if I do I can’t count on anyone else.
At times I don’t even know how to save myself.
I am a lost soul,
I’m out of control.
I don’t believe in love, there’s too much to lose and nothing to gain.
I need to have my guards up that would shield me from all of the pain.
If only I had no emotions, no care, no heart.
Then I wouldn’t know what it’s like to have my life fall apart.
