Dark Christmas Poem by Anisha Nyambe

Dark Christmas

You make Christmas seem so sparkly
And I see the world equally darkly
I see everything coated in black ink
And missed opportunities drained in my sink

All the stars and presents you give
Make young children want to live
Remember, I'll be alone in my coffin
I'll blink and no one will be watching'

There are tinsel and light bulbs everywhere
Your joyful energy, I cannot share
You see Christmas as something sparkly
And I see the world equally as darkly.
