Dark Tales Poem by Anisha Nyambe

Dark Tales

I don't see fairytales as stories dark
I read them and feel a spark
from something unique
of a writer so meek.

He sits behind his table
as he writes his fable.
Using his trusted pen
he writes of now and then
and of tales in between
from when he was a tween.

All know he means well
but his dreams, they fell
and his stories twisted into a tale dark
emitted from a wining spark
so frightening.

It struck us like lightning.
