Dark December Day Poem by C Richard Miles

Dark December Day

I woke up yawning
Yesterday morning
And looked out,
Full of doubt,
Pulling back the curtain,
Uncertain,
Since the weather wasn’t clever,
Whether
I should join the joyless joggers
Or dull dog-walking plodders
For a lark,
Round the park,
On a dark
December day,
That was so grey.
Anyway,
Needless to say,
I turned away my head
And went back to bed,
Instead.
