Dark Place By Darien Poem by Darien Trask

Dark Place By Darien

Silence is what I hear in a crowded room
It's like wondering in a grave sight
I hear whispers
Whispers yelling
"Who are you? "
"Why are you frightened? "
I'm not petrified nor scared
I'm just puzzled
Do I have superpowers
No, that's crazy
As the whispers attack
I wish they would all
STOP
STOP STOP
As I yell
People are looking at me
"Is he ok? "
They murmur
I'm fine, I'm fine
Is what I tell myself
Before feeling like a sociopath
Let me place this smile on my face
And pretend everything is peachy
Even though I hear
Whispers loudly telling me
"No you're not."
