Darkened Night Poem by Dr Afaq Qureshi

Darkened Night

Rating: 5.0

Night gets darker
Eyes like children with hunger and fear, are scared.
In the graveyard of dreams
A new tombstone is added daily.
Love like parents do, is not rare,
It roams the city lanes all the time,
It maintains itself amidst the roar of engines,
and smoke of diesel,
Still why this pain,
Which transcends from the night sky
as time passes but lies still,
in the eyes that resemble scared children.

Its been years, solitude multiplies only.
One to ten, hundred to million times,
Heart remains one.
A vast barren landscape,
Its empty yet enlarges and dilates
With pain.
Night gets darker.
