Darkest Dreams Become Eternity Poem by Rose McLaughlin

Darkest Dreams Become Eternity

(wrote this one in 2009)

Bring in the confusion,
Release true confession,
Swimming in a pool of thoughts and dreams,
Receive one wish,
Open a door to a dream.

To walk with the stars,
To walk through the door,
A confusion unspeakable,
Punishment is death.

Stars shine too bright,
Close the door.

'Here's your ring my dear'
'Oh thank you my Lord'

Setting placed by a creative author,
Fiction or Real is the question of the reader,
Only characters have true eyes,
Their eyes look to the conclusion of the fairy tale.

All that leads is a long yellow brick road,
Along and along we go,
The road leads to nothing but an endless pit.

Jump with me,
Follow me down the rabbit hole.

Screams, echo through our ears and out the hole,
pleasure?
pain?
Give me some truth.

Slam your head into a wall,
Blood spills down your cheek,
Look to the sky for clarity.
Scream a bloody cry to the heavens.

Hoarse and tired,
Red in the face,
Released of pure frustration,
A hand touches my shoulder.

Turn around,
See the bright white light that slowly leaves him,
His wings stretched out wide,
An angel.

'What are you doing here, Saint? '
'I am here to relieve you of your pain. Release unto me your deepest pain.'

Naked we lay in black satin sheets,
The world shakes, the stars explode,
We fall and we fall into an eternal ecstasy,
A final cry, a scream as I give him every dropp of my eternal exhaustion.

'You shall be happy here on out M'lady'
'And you? '
'I shall serve the Lady, as her Lord....'
'You'll stay with me? '
'And never leave'

Into a sparkling dust his wings vanish into the wind,
His halo becomes a golden necklace,
His glow envelops me.

'An eternal promise unto you...This angel as clips his wings to live in eternity with you...'

Tears and tears as she reaches to her chest tearing her chest open only to lay her heart upon a silver platter before him, still beating full and quick.

'A gift to you angel...'
