Darkness Poem by Lily Law

Darkness

Rating: 5.0

Only darkness that my eyes could see,
Only darkness that my hands could feel,
And in the darkness,
I stood alone,
Lost forever in this prison of darkness.

In this darkness,
My eyes blinded with warm tears,
In this darkness,
My ears echoed with scream of fear,
And in this darkness,
I felt so weak, so unsecured,
To face the bitterly cold world.

Could there be any light at the end of this darkness?
Could there be found any hope lies beyond this darkness?
Or could there be any life in this damp darkness?

But it is too late!
Too late to escape.

Slowly,
Day by day,
Minute by minute,
Second by second,
The darkness suffocated me,
Until the last breath is stolen.

In the end,
There is nothing left behind,
No flesh,
No sound,
Not even an inch of soul,
But only the emptiness of darkness.
