Darkness Falls Poem by Jim O'Donnell

Darkness is falling all around
Leaving deep shadows upon the ground
Wherever I stand the darkness does creep
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet

Fear not little one of this darkness around
I’m here to protect you from unknown sounds
My name does not matter I’m here for you all
I will be at your beck and call

Some have seen me stand by their side
And wondered about me the rest of their lives
It is no matter of whom you have seen
Many will say it must be a dream

I will look after you all of your life
Love and protect you and keep you from strife
I am an angel from heaven above
When your heart fills with sorrow, I will fill it with love

People will mock you and say it’s not true
But their day will come they will wonder too
This poem was written to make you all think
Is there truth in his wisdom, well what do you think!

A guardian angel, is the name people give
Why does it matter, as long as you live?
You will be like me some far off day
To love and protect in the very same way
