Dear friend dear friend
My life is passing by
I’m glad to have known you
A tear please do not cry

My life is going faster
Than you could ever see
Writing this poem
To show what you mean to me

When my time does come
A smile upon my face
I will still remember
That old familiar face

My spirit will surround you
Where ever you may be
Remember times of laughter
Such a dear friend to me
