Darkness Seeks To Claim Another Soul Poem by Ted Sheridan

Darkness Seeks To Claim Another Soul

Rating: 5.0

The tallest of the darkest shadows; were the trees
effectively haunting the almost lifeless of nights
with rustling branches and disturbing sounds
of perilous fright.
Nocturnal birds of prey swoop
from out of the unholy voids; screeching
their deadly yet nearly silent kills.
Terrorizing any creature of timid spirit
or deaf and muted ear, with sharp talons
aimed directly at the faint of heart…
Caution and beware all ye who venture here
be you one of those unfortunate, ripe for the picking
while roving in this evil and fruitless grove…
