Dateline Nbc Sunday 08/13/2006 (Con Men) Poem by Luke Easter

Sunday I watched Dateline NBC on 08/13/2006,
I thought it was really Friday because of all the dirty tricks,
How could so many families be down on their luck,
People being criminally separated from millions of bucks.

However, first let us take a peak at the lead story line,
A church Bishop in Tulsa has committed the ultimate crime,
He lost most of his congregation and a very beautiful temple,
Het pastor, how could you make difficult something so simple?

Not only does this born again whatever now preach there is no hell,
He believes Adolf Hitler & those like him will get to heaven as well,
I just can’t see St. Peter smiling while opening the narrow gate,
For someone causing the death of millions of Jews as he spread hate.

Preacher claims he had a revelation, I say he fell & bumped his head,
Either that or he keeps getting out on the wrong side of a water bed,
Too much moisture will swell your brain, leaving it in a dense fog,
100 to 1 he puts on the leash to walk the cat instead of his dog.

Since when did righteous become evil and bad equivalent to good?
The bible was directed by God, not screen writers in Hollywood,
Ephesians 6: 16, tell him to put on the shield of faith quenching fiery darts,
On this occasion the devil aimed and shot him straight through the heart.

While as many in our Christian World began to judge,
Still, former Bishop Carlton Pearson would not budge,
“Gospel Of Inclusion” is the platform of his ministry,
Wow! From heaven to hell, now here’s a real mystery.

Now, phase two, the unscrupulous remodeling home contractors,
This story could qualify for an episode of “Fear Factors”,
Don’t eat first, this is where the contents of your stomach gets tossed,
Just in California, thousands of home owners with millions of dollars lost.

Seems as though this is an easy con for the wicked dealing in construction,
Separating the unsuspecting and their money like fat through liposuction,
Then there’s the two who showed up for a job after sucking drugs from a pipe,
No need to pay us in cash home owners, just give your credit card a swipe.

I watched as they caught a man and he smiled while shackled with cuffs,
Apparently being arrested and charged for this guy just wasn’t enough,
If you missed the program, right about now you’re asking yourself why,
Days later he loaded up his truck for another sucker, c-ya later, bye.

Oh yeah, the perp who caused two families to lose several hundred thou,
Supervising an eight million dollar project not far away, only a few miles,
With camera and crew firmly planted directly in his face, what did he say?
It only took a few seconds before blurting out that he wasn’t really to blame.

Ah ha, but fear not all those who prey on the innocent as they have no recourse,
Wishing they had a mafia godfather who knew what to do with a headless horse,
Keep lying, cheating, and stealing from others no matter what the law might say,
All you have to do is attend the church in the first story, you’ll get to heaven anyway.
