David L. White Poem by Moth Harris

David L. White

All those days in my room
We just stared at the screen
We read all the words
But didn’t know what they mean

We get a cut or a bruise
Or a scrape on the knee
We laugh it off together
I think you’d agree

We get broken hearts
and hopeless memories
We got an arm around our shoulders
That’s you and me

Now we don’t let our long hair get in our eyes
We don’t care as long as we tried
and even though we don’t know what they mean
we still read the words on the screen
