Dawning Poem by Angela Bontle Ditumiso

Dawning

My joy is skeletal bones
Buried in the pit of my stomach
I am learning how to slowly
Bring them to life
So far I have mastered a smile
Though it's fake
I have mastered it
I hear it looks good on me
One day I hope it'll come from
Deep within
