Coffined Poem by Angela Bontle Ditumiso

Coffined

Rating: 5.0

Call me a fool
But I've mourned her into a decade
I'm told every strong emotion
Should in time expire
But when life expires love seems to intensify

So yes
For my friend
I have become a bonfire
With no one to feel my warmth
Especially her

As I burn
I imagine her in the afterlife
Shivering
I guess that's what brings out the pain
I guess that's why I'm still grieving
Knowing she will never warm up to my existence
