Dawns A New Year (2010) Poem by Dr John Celes

Dawns A New Year (2010)

The Old Year cruises smoothly off;
The New Year dawns across the globe;
It brings its surprises many –
Some of which we may like, dislike!

But this is how the world goes on;
The old must give in to things new,
As people wish for better days,
And give up bad habits and ways!

But toil is key to success prime;
Our resolutions must be good;
Keep to the ear-marked road, we must,
Till aims are accomplished with ease.

Keep God as guide in endeavors;
Let righteousness rule hearts and minds;
With morality, good ethics
And sense of values, forge ahead.

Let marriage keep its definition;
Let sex become not perverted;
Let life be revered right from womb;
Let sweet and healthy be each home.

Let love of brethren take first place;
Let peace prevail ’midst nations all;
Let charity to poor bring bliss,
Invoking blessings of Heaven.

‘Happy New year,2010! ’
