Day Memoir Poem by Felix Otiende

Day Memoir

DAY MEMOIR*
Dear Nyakodidi
Ifonly death would spare you,
And give you a last survival chance,
If only God would listen to my plea,
And return to you your last breathe,
Maybe I would hold you tight,
And showed you my appreciation card,
I would have taken good care of you,
And prooved to the world that you are my best,
Since you left 3 months back,
Life has never been the same😰
But I hope this bitter memories shall come to pass😭
I miss you sweetie
Though you writhled in pain in your sick bed,
When cancer devoured your cells and striped you apart,
But the smile on your countenance was still genuine,
You still remained to be my best,
Always encouraging me to work harder,
Inspiring me to be a game changer in the society,
Teaching me to be a responsible human,
And learning kindness as a perpetual virtue,
One last word I can't forget,
Which you whispered to my ears before you breathed my last,
"Help people even if they can't pay back,
Do good without considering your standards,
You generosity will one day reward you"
And that is what has pushed me this far😭
If life could be bought,
I would have taken you to the best hospitals,
And treated you with the best doctors,
I would have paid your bills,
And ensured you get maximum medication,
But I believe grass will one day grow in your graveyard,
And I'll forget all this bitter memories,
God has you in his taking,
I have you in my heart,
Fare thee well irine😭
*Deep from the heart💘*
