Dead To Me Poem by Scarred Unknown

Dead To Me

Dead to me

I thought it might be hard
To pretend you aren’t alive.
Thought I would die,
If you weren’t by my side.

I was wrong.
As the warm feeling
Spreads through me,
I feel alive.

You got what you wanted,
In a way.
I’m over you completely
After all those days.
But, I don’t hate you
Not at all.
For you are dead,
As dead as the walls.

No more anger,
Or pain.
There is no way,
For now that you are dead,
It’s all fair game.

As you pass me in the hall
Your just another ball.
Just one more body
In the mass of people.
I pretend you don’t exist,
I thought it might be hard,
But it’s all so easy!
I’ve forgot it all.

You might be wondering,
If your dead
And nonexistent,
How am I writing this poem?
Well, here is your answer,
Just follow

In my writing,
Things come alive,
Nonexistent,
Things so far away,
And forgotten.
Just like our ‘love’.
And so I conclude
To forget I must write
As I have done.

Now in one last note,
You are forgotten.
At last on your own,
Nonexistent,
Dead as you lie.
You shall forever more,
Be dead as the love,
You claimed to see.
