Deadheads Poem by gershon hepner

Deadheads

All they have to do is die;
Though their opponents say
their motive is to kill, they lie,
because the martyr way
holds death the end, and not the means.
The killers do not think
that they are killing death machines,
but dying, feel in sync
with death, believing deaths they cause
to be quite incidental
to their own deaths, which follow laws
they treat as transcendental.
With death they take leave of the living,
to join the grateful dead;
a God to deadheads unforgiving
should make them live instead.
