Dear Best Friend

Dear best friend, how are you?
No scratch that.
Ok Dear best friend, hey...
No scratch that too.

Let's try this again.
Dear best friend, so I've heard…
No scratch that as well.
Ok I give up.

Why would you lie to me?
You said your were fine,
But-
You're not fine at all.

How could you act so normal over something terrible?
I've known you since we were 1.
I've always been there for you-
And now you're a complete stranger to me.

How was I supposed to know that you're dying?
You hid your pain through a fake smile.
Am I not important enough to know?
I guess not since you won't look at me now, the way you used to.

You're just accepting your fate without judgement.
The glare from your eyes disappeared.
You're just somebody I used to know a long time ago.
You're not burning with flame anymore.

I guess the flame went out a long time ago,
Since you are vanishing like a puff of smoke.
Even though you say you love me.
I can't believe it because you lied to me about your health.

Yet you held my hand and said "I love you."

While time, time again, you keep breaking my heart.
Making me feel useless, hopeless and clueless,
For not realizing it earlier. I feel guilty for not noticing your condition.
And for that i'm truly sorry for not being there 4 you when you needed me the most.

Dear Best Friend, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for leaving you all alone.
Sorry, for being so selfish and not considerate about your condition.
Sorry for not being the friend you deserve.


I'm a piece of paper that's burning away in a fire,
Until there's ashes of me left floating in the wind.


Dear Best Friend, I will be by your side everyday.
I will go through the pain and suffer with you.
I will show you how much I care even if you're dying,
And leaving me this time, instead of me leaving you again.

You're my Ride Or Die.
My brother from another mother.
My one only true best friend.
My childhood buddy.

I will always remember you.
All the adventures we had.
My greatest accomplishment in life was, you being by my side,
And I being by yours, thank you.
