Dear Friends - Poem by Hasmukh Amathalal

Wake up all my dear friends
Carve out the road leading to an end
Must fight it out with ethics or no ethics
This is pure and simple mathematics

Each and every layer is polluted
The moral values are on decline and diluted
The brave and dead are saluted
Our voice is muffled and muted

What do we see for future?
No one can say for sure?
Children are unaware of tomorrow
How can we watch silently and grow?

To whom we shall stand to reply
To whom we should pray and try?
We have done enough of damage
Now there is no time left to manage

Let us see through reasons
There is no use blaming the persons
We are solely responsible for all sins
This has been on and continuously seen

What do we want to give to our next generation?
Secure future or ridden with lots of questions?
It has to be addressed with great concern
Tide will definitely cause damage in turn

We are finding short cuts
Find faults with ifs and buts
We have yet not learnt any lesson
There is lack of understanding with vision

Still it is not late
We can’t blame it on fate
We are the curse for downfall
Let us make it beautiful with positive call

    Sarwar *
    There is much comfusion
One generation's not on the same page as the next
    and doesnt want to learn
the 'values' once thought as dear
and great and had timeless characteristic,
cannot be instilled by 'trying to teach'
    unfortunately...but all folk ultimately
learn this for themselves the hard way...finding out for themselves....the time tested and
important things that many do not pay heed to
because of whatever they may be presently
engrossed in. Aint nothing easy...you have to let things be many a time that is if you tried.
    Thank you.
