Dear Ivy Skies (Part Ii) Poem by Effie Yalena Steyn

Dear Ivy Skies (Part Ii)

To me, the stars burn brighter, when fuelled and distorted with tears.
The wind, cruel soft wind, whispers everytime I have fears.
The sun makes me shiver but not when you're near.
I don't know how quite to say this:
All I'll ever want is you to be here.

To me, the future hold the most beautiful scene.
It's us, just us, a small child, a house of our dreams.
And you are the light, the pearl of the sea.
And I am just happy, hear this:
Just happy you're there with me.

If I push you away, I know not what I do,
if am stupid and I am foolish and I am worthless in what I do.
If time has taught me nothing it's that one day you'll know it's true.
But I pray every day that you will remember this:
I am nothing without you.
A shell, an attempt at a human being,
not seeing, not believing.
And I'd rather be nothing, than be without you.
