Dear Katelyn Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

Dear Katelyn

This is your day to celebrate,
Your day to be the star,
And a perfect time to tell you,
How very special you are.

It seems like only yesterday,
Your baby fingers clasp my own,
You've grown up so- like overnight,
And now your almost grown.

With every year that passes,
You're more special than before,
And here on your sixteenth Birthday,
I could not love you more.

I'd never change a thing about you,
You are so pure, so sweet and kind,
You add such joy to my life,
And I'm so proud your mine.

May God bless you on your special day,
And keep you healthy too,
May your life be filled with happiness,
And may all your dreams come true.

How did I get so lucky,
For miracles are so few,
I asked God for an Angel,
And my sweet KK, he sent me you.
