Dear Mrs. Russell, Poem by Rachel Mac

Dear Mrs. Russell,

Occasionally, but not often, you come across someone,
Who's not all about sternness, but also pranks and fun.
Who's happiness and quirkiness show most at days end,
Along with the kindness that is a huge part of this friend.
She's someone who I can talk to, someone who makes me smile.
Someone who I make sure to visit more than "once in awhile".
This person is an adult, who's profession is to teach,
That laughter and happiness haven't a place they can't reach.
She's an intelligent person, who loves to write.
Who's always in a good mood, no matter her pupil's spite.
I know you're confused, asking "This person is who? "
Well Mrs. Russell, this person is you!
So the coming few days are causing me sorrow,
No longer will I visit you nearly every morrow.
Because I'm leaving this school, and I may never look back.
And teary goodbyes have never been my knack.
So I figured I would say before I must go.
I'll miss you Mrs. Russell, from the top of my head to my smallest toe.
