Dear, You. Love, Me. Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Dear, You. Love, Me.

Dear (present) Girlfriend,
When you get upset,
I’ll whipe your tears.
Even if I can’t get to you before they dry,
I’ll still remember to when I see you.
On the nights you wake up from a bad dream,
I’ll already have my arms wrapped around you before you make a sound.
When you see a spider,
I’ll shoe it out the door before it has a chance to see you.
I’ll surprise you with random gifts, and make sure to tell you I love you everyday.
When you get sick, I’ll nurse you back to health.
I’ll kiss every scratch,
bandage every wound.
I’ll teach you to skateboard, if you teach me to trust.
Even though I’m scared, I’d never hesitate to give you my heart.

Love,
Me.
