Death - And- Grief Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

Death - And- Grief

Rating: 5.0

Death is so deeply personal
and stunningly final,
nothing can emotionally
prepare us for its arrival.

Nothing in life can prepare us
for the death of a loved one.

Whether death results from
a sudden accident or a
sustained illness,
it always catches us off-guard.

With every death,
there is a loss.
With every loss,
there will be grief.

(Consoling wisdom from Psalm: 34: 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Holy Bible) .

2) It is very important to remember that in death only the body dies, the spirit within the person lives on and our loved ones are ALWAYS with us. They don't leave us and one day we are reunited with them again. We miss their physical presence but must be consoled that all their pain, restless nights are over and they are at peace.

1) Even if one watches their loved one die over a period of time, one is still not prepared when the inevitable happens. The deeper the love we have for the person, the more intense our grieving is and the process takes very much longer to heal from. There is no specific amount of time in which one will leave the grieving state, it depends on the individual...
