Death Is Immortal Poem by fraidoon warasta

Death Is Immortal

descended
unmoved
autumn leaves
after rain

as if a profound grief
in this grey sky
were afloat
autumn broken glows still aflame
the landscape
on the mist
adrift

red tulips go
with the coffin
in the muddy ground

what remains
but the chattering memories
like unleashed butterflies
scattered everywhere
lingering
in eternity

on my arrival home
i discovered
the tiny cage door
was open
the canary will never return

in the autumn garden
each leaf is
filled with courage
sorrow
and the songs of
departing birds
