Death Race Poem by Sakib Choudhury

Death Race

Our nature speaks for itself
A selfish species are we
Do we really believe in this thing
Or did we just mask it for what it really is
For when i look around all i see is fear

Fear of leaving this plain alone
Before then suffering and ageing alone
As a result we convince people into thinking
It is in their benefitto stay with us till the end
At least then there is a companion to grow old with
secretly wishing that they go before the other
Making it a Final race to the death
