Deception Poem by Sruthi Sahadevan

Deception

Rating: 4.5

Confused, submerged
In a delusion,
Don’t know what to believe…
Can’t take this anymore…
The pain, the suffering…
Unawareness prevailing.
Illusions blocking my vision…
Filling my thoughts,
With blurred images of yesteryears…
Feel pity on myself…
For trusting,
Cos my faith is broken,
Into shards of glass…
Piercing my heart,
Wounds unbearable…
Iridescent world,
With fake smiles…
Made me ecstatic…
But the reward of joy,
Was taken away forever…
Flashing its numerous faces…
Making a fool out of me…
The devils lead their lives…
Without a tinge of guilt.
Those camouflaging faces,
With powerful influence…
Toiling to be myself…
Fighting the world.
Afraid whether I am lost…
Lost in the doomy ditches…
Without a helping hand…
Following the world,
The filthy world…
Like a vampire to its grave
Before sunlight….
Cos there’s no second choice…
