Decisions Decisions Poem by Ronald Chapman

Decisions Decisions

I am willing to try something new.
But, I'm not willing to toss my friends away.
It was one thing when I had
All the time in the world.
It is another thing now.

I am prepared to move forward.
But, I will not discard my loyalty.
It was one thing when I had no job or
friends at all.
It is another thing now.

I am prepared to move forward in my life.
But my feelings of loyalty are stopping me.
It was one thing when I was satisfied and happy with this dream.

It is another thing now.
Will my friends let me go or
Cry for me to stay?

I am prepared to move on to brighter dreams.
But, I have to make my friends cry,
Goodbye!
It was one thing when I had no more dreams,
It is another thing now.
Will my friends tell me to go follow my new dream?
If they are true friends.
They will be happy for me.

I am grateful to discover the difference
Between things that matter to me
And things that do not.
