Dedicated To: My Husband Josh Poem by Rebecca Moors

Dedicated To: My Husband Josh

Rating: 2.8

I wish there was a word to express how I feel,
But even I love you isn’t good enough.
I wish there was a way to be with you until the end of time,
But eternity isn’t long enough.
I wish there was a way for you to read my mind, then maybe you would know,
What words or actions can’t show.
I wish you could listen to the music I’m hearing,
Then maybe you could hear the love I’m bearing.
I wish you could look through my eyes, then maybe you could see,
How truly happy you make me!
I wish there was a way you could feel the way I do when you hold me,
Then maybe you could know how much you mean to me.
I wish there was a word to express how I feel,
But even I love you isn’t good enough.

Hmmmm... How shall I put this without insulting you? It seems that certain emotions, like being in love and being heartbroken, sometimes have the effect of eliminating the ability to write original poems, if in fact such ability existed to begin with. Feeling powerful emotions doesn't automatically translate into good poetry. Maybe, as you say in your piece, your words can't show what's in your mind.
