I wanna thank you for everything you’ve done for me
You were there for me when everyone was not willing to be there
Because my mother left me when I was still young
You took all the responsibility of raising me
You raised me to the woman I am today
You gave me all the necessary tools to become the woman I am today
When the world turned against me you held me in your lap
And told me I’ve got your love and support
And I surely believe I had it because of the sacrifices you’ve done for me
You took care of me when nobody wanted to associate themselves with me
I felt all alone my entire life
But you took all this loneliness away
Even kids from the hood respected you for being who you were
I grew up wishing to be just like you
Because you’ve got this gift that no one can take away from you
I would like to raise my kids with love you taught me
Love and humanity are the valuable things that will always remind me of you
You taught me never to look down on other people
No matter their circumstances, situation, wealth or poverty
That we are all human and we are equal in the eyes of the Lord
Therefore I should treat everyone with respect
You raised me to be a better person
You are the greatest, you made this kid who she is
I loved it every time you called me to say I take care
And I felt like you were there watching over me
Even though I was distance away from you
Every kid deserves a chance to be loved
Every kid deserves a parental care
Every kid deserves family love
Every kid deserves happiness among family members
It’s when I am with you that I find it all
Even today I am still asking myself questions
How did you make it? Where have you had your strengths from?
What would it take for me to be as good to my kids as you were to me?
All I want to do is express my appreciation
The way you raised me, you deserve a round of applause
Everything has changed for the worse now and I feel like whatever I wrote here was to be a lie because that’s not how you were raised – I’m sorry! Still love you though.
