Deed Book Poem by Ghazala Lari

Deed Book

In the end, it's me and my Allah Subhanahu tala,

Settling my own records,

Deed book open with my actions,

The words I spoke, hurting others.

I focus on myself first,

My own actions, my own words,

Introspection begins,

Stating my strengths, weaknesses.

Working on areas needing change,

Turning weaknesses into strengths,

Challenges ahead, solutions sought,

Studying myself, top priority.

Enhancing skills, self-improvement,

Growing each day, higher levels,

Meeting Allah Subhanahu tala in the end,

Book of deeds handed over.

Shame and embarrassment ours,

Why waste time on others?

Each with a chosen path,

Destination awaits, heaven or hell.

No need to bother where others go,

Focus on the journey within,

For in the end, it's me and Allah Subhanahu tala,

Settling my own records.

Explanation of the above poem

I close my eyes, taking a deep breath as I try to calm the turmoil within. I've always been one to focus on others, to put their needs before my own, but I realize now that I've been neglecting the most important relationship of all: the one between me and my Creator. It's time to change that.

As I sit here, I reflect on my past actions, the words I've spoken, the times I've hurt others. I feel shame and regret weighing heavily on my heart, but I know that I can't change what's already been done. The only thing I can do now is move forward, learn from my mistakes, and become a better person.

I open my deed book, flipping through the pages, each one a testament to my journey thus far. There are times when I've done good, times when I've done bad, and times when I've simply stood by and let others suffer. It's these moments that I need to focus on, the opportunities for growth and self-improvement.

As I begin the process of examining myself, I realize that I am not alone. Allah Subhanahu tala is with me every step of the way, guiding me, supporting me. It's a comforting thought, knowing that I am not walking this path alone. With His help, I can turn my weaknesses into strengths, and turn my life around.

Each day brings new challenges, new opportunities for growth. I devote myself to learning, to understanding my faith more deeply, and to becoming a better person. I work on enhancing my skills and strengths, and I don't hesitate to ask for help when I need it.

As the days turn into weeks, and the weeks into months, I feel myself changing. I'm more patient, more kind, more compassionate. I'm learning to put my trust in Allah Subhanahu tala, and to rely on Him to guide me through the darkness.

The day finally arrives when I will meet my Creator face to face. I stand before Him, head held high, deed book in hand. I'm not perfect, but I've tried my best. I've learned from my mistakes, and I've grown into a better person. As I hand over my book, I feel a sense of peace wash over me, knowing that I've done my best, and that Allah Subhanahu tala will judge me fairly.

And so, my journey continues, one step at a time, always with Allah Subhanahu tala by my side. The path may be difficult, the challenges many, but I am not alone. I am on my way to becoming the best version of myself, and I am filled with hope for the future. In the end, that is all that matters.
