Deepavali Poem by Daya Nandan

An epic event of the year in a single day,
A of day happiness, you wish time would stop and stay,
The victory of light over darkness, a day every hindu knows,
A day that feeds strength to the soul, a day your infinite soul glows,

Knowledge over ignorance and good over evil
The virtues shared today upsets the devil,
On the brightest day for hindus all around the world
Truly an auspicious day for every single boy and girl,

Like Rangoli decorations, made using coloured powder,
Deepavali shall empower blessings with love and power,
Blessed with mental, physical and material well-being during the year ahead
Blessed thoughts of joy and love all playing in your head,

I wish everyone the best, may your inner light shine bright,
For it is deepavali a festival of beauty and light,
Whole heartedly i leave everyone with a wish and my poetic words to say,
Because this a special day, a beautiful deepavali day
