Diwali's light dispels darkness,
As goodness overcomes evil;
Hope replaces minds in despair;
Ken prevails upon ignorance.
Let light dispel darkness around;
Let cracker noise, the air resound;
Let truth triumph over evil;
May Maker trounce every devil.
Let crackers burst and rain down hues,
On people, bringing joy on earth;
The Festival of Light's again,
To cheer and charm all, akin rain.
Sweet memories remind us all,
The Providence's clarion call;
For sweets and clothes, all throng the mall,
And gather crowds in temples, stall.
With environs and houses clean,
And decorations adding sheen,
Let prosperity and peace stay
In every heart, O come what may.
May mirth and joy and merriment,
Brighten all lives, and temperament;
Let hope and faith in hearts be strong,
As health makes life-spans pretty long.
Let sparks ignite the lamps within
The hearts, evoking thoughts sans sin;
Ring out all sadness; rein in bliss;
‘A Happy Diwali' - nev'r miss!
