Deer People - Poem by Mikael Ejdemyr

(for Simon & Ivan)

Prohibited to shoot
we rove invisible
to the world
on the former
castle estate of
others within ourselves

Beneath ample crowns
of phallic beech
trunks dry last
year leaves fabulous
memories hard to
read nightmares mouldering
