Defy Gravity Poem by Lauren Harper

Defy Gravity

I suppose it matters not if i breath to a specified beat. Not would perfection ever be enough to fill your unrealistic expectations for me. Thin I spread myself. From the peak off Antarctica to the South Pole I reach. Yet I still am not worthy of thee. Try as I may to color within the lines, to follow each nitpicked direction, each and every plea. Until at last, turning to you I chuckle for it is then that I learn that not one thing will satisfy your majesty. For I dare not live to write within the lines. But I strive to color vibrantly. I live here on this earth to defy gravity.
