Delirious Light Poem by Tabraze Rasul

Delirious Light

Oh Love of mine, the night wind startles me,
Awakens me from my troubled sleep.
My tired eyes search the abyss of the night,
Your incense diluted by my tears of solitude.
In the ghostly night-light you float at the bedside,
My tear-blurred eyes sink into your physique.
Delirious by the fever of your infectious beauty,
I let my faculties fade away in contentment.
And so I let you into my cold tortured sleep,
Like light soaking through ancient forests,
I welcome you to haunt my dreams.
