Delirium! Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Delirium!

Delirium!

In the bus; holding knife
He cut head; end to end.

Arrested, behind bars
He was sent to doctor.

“Problem in the brain, ”
Reported the doctors.
“Things are wrong…”
“In his nerve” he claimed.
“Delirium! Depression! ”

This makes the questions race:
“This sickness came of where?
What came up, and happened?
What about Syrians, Yemenis?
What about bombs; and wars?
(Ambushing mum with child.)

These questions never end.
Answers change as if games.

Enemy, is sickness and disease
Was born, soared in love went.
When kindness was murdered
Sex sold well; and male gaze
Turned into, main course, life.

Social care turned to mist:
“Save yourself, hell with rest.”

In schools are shootings
Died Norway’s peacefulness.

Last of these as we know
In the Alps; German flight…

We are balls for their feet
Diplomats are all sick
Cancerous; politics…
