Denis Vs The Car Poem by John Carter Brown

Denis Vs The Car

Rating: 5.0

I hope it starts, I hope it starts
I really hope it does
I hope it starts, or else it's walking,
that, or catch the bus.

It starts, it starts, I pat the wheel
relieved, I break a smile
it hasn't had a run for weeks
and hardly done a mile.

I hope it doesn't stall at all
I'm hoping for the best
the engine's running smoothly now,
it passed the starting test.

It runs, it runs, oh how it runs
it takes me for a spin
I've just now passed the checkered flag
one-nil to me, I win.

Not a very good poem, but good for you, mate, England usually the loser in sport, soccer, on the world stage. To be like Argentina, France, real winners!
